Tuffers Supports Charity Cricket Day
Sep 13, 2010
On Friday 10th September 2010, Cricket for Change President, Phil Tufnell (Tuffers), was again the guest of honour at the Croydon Business Venture's (CBV) Annual Charity Match and Networking Day.
The 5th CBV charity event, kindly sponsored by, 'Capital Investments', was held at The Cricket Centre, Plough Lane in Wallington and yet again helped raise welcome funds for 'Cricket for Change'. For nearly 30 years, the charity has used cricket to make a positive impact on individuals and communities both in Britain and abroad. Next year, 2011 will see the community cricket charity embarking upon a year of fundraising and raising awareness of the charity and its work.
The day also involved a short coaching session, led by the C4C coaches and Tuffers, for some children from local school, Carew Manor (who are involved in C4C’s successful ‘Hit the Top’ programme).
Guests enjoyed a delicious lunch, free Pimms (courtesy of NatWest Bank), great networking opportunities and fantastic raffle prizes (including England vs. Pakistan ODI tickets courtesy of Sky Sports ECB Coach Education Programme’) all in a great location and atmosphere. The networking lunch was followed by a charity cricket match, which was won by the ‘No Won Famous XI’.
