"Cricket for Change has enabled me to make good friends, to experience things that I never thought possible; it has given me confidence in challenging life situations."
Peer Leaders Programme
Funded through The Big Lottery, this programme supports our, Hit the Top initiative.
Every year three Peer Leaders work in mainstream schools helping other young people with physical disabilities, visual impairments and learning difficulties to access our programmes.
Meet Beth and Owais
Beth has been at C4C for three years and works as our Peer Leadership Co-ordinator. Beth say's, "The best thing about my job at Cricket for Change is working with Owais, a peer leader who is blind. He has a massive grin whenever he achieves anything new. Watching him grow as a person has been a huge privilege"
Owais says, "I have always loved cricket but never thought I could play. Thanks to a recent trip to Jamaica I went on with Cricket for Change, I have not only learnt that I can really play my part in a team and help others but have gained great confidence in my mobility and independence."
The 2012 Peer Leaders are: Daniel Mynott, Fred Bridges and James Hill.
